About the Course
The Art and Meditation Workshop is designed to help participants explore their identity and inner workings through various meditation and art exercises. Participants will start off the workshop with a guided meditation, during which they are encouraged to deeply relax and open their minds to their thoughts and emotions. During this exercise, the facilitator will offer guidance on how to bring awareness to the impact of the past, environment, current events, and future on the participants' identity creation.Â
From there, the participants will engage in art exercises that explore the various aspects of their identity. The activities can range from creating a piece of art that explores the roots of their personal history, to visualizing their ideal future selves, to reflecting on their current emotional and physical state. Through these activities, a safe space is created in which participants can voice their emotions and thoughts around the issues raised earlier in the guided meditation.Â
At the end of the workshop, participants will be encouraged to sit in a final meditation and journal about their experience. This will prompt them to reflect on their thoughts and feelings while they explore the impact of the past, environment, current events, and future on their current lives. The goal of this workshop is to help participants come away with a better understanding of themselves, their identity, and the impact that their background and current life have on who they are and how they live.
